Fine Gold
Fine gold is available in quite a few different forms. This metal is highly valued because it will not rust, corrode, or tarnish. It is also very strong. At the same time, it is the most malleable of all metals.
Pure fine gold is too soft to handle everyday wear. For this reason, it is generally alloyed with a wide range of other metal compositions. The purity of gold is expressed as it's karatage. For example, 24k gold is 100% purity. On the other hand, 18k would only have 75% gold.
Fine gold may be alloyed with such things as silver, copper, zinc, and nickel. The most commonly used of these is copper. It creates a more reddish color. White gold alloys are generally created with either nickel or palladium. Nickel is more affordable, though it is also somewhat toxic. It is quite common for people to have an allergic reaction to it.
