Gold Jewelry
Gold jewelry is created from the most malleable and ductile pure metal known. This material is used not just in jewelry, but also for sculpture and other forms of decoration. It has been used for such purposes since prehistoric times.
Before being used for gold jewelry, this metal is found in rocks as either nuggets or grains. In addition to rock formations, it may also be discovered in alluvial deposits. Also called alluvium, this is a collection of soil or sediments that has been deposited by running water.
The source material of gold jewelry may also be found in veins. Geologically speaking, veins are finite volumes found within rocks. These are made up of crystals that are themselves made up of either one or more minerals. Fluids carry minerals are what form these veins.
